Install the Chrome Extension

Crosscheck runs as a Chrome browser extension. Follow these steps to install it, pin it to your toolbar, and sign in to your account.

Chrome required
Crosscheck is a Chrome extension. It requires Google Chrome (or a Chromium-based browser such as Edge, Brave, or Arc). Firefox and Safari are not supported at this time.

Installation steps

Open the Chrome Web Store listing

Visit the Crosscheck extension page on the Chrome Web Store:

Click "Add to Chrome"

Click the Add to Chrome button on the store listing. A confirmation dialog will appear showing the permissions Crosscheck needs. Click Add extension to confirm.

Pin the extension to your toolbar

After installation, Crosscheck may be hidden in the extensions menu. To keep it visible:

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the extensions menu.
  2. Find Crosscheck in the list.
  3. Click the pin icon next to it so it stays visible in your toolbar at all times.

Sign in or create an account

Click the Crosscheck icon in your toolbar to open the extension popup. From here you can either Sign Up or Login:

  • Sign Up — You will be redirected to app.crosscheck.cloud where you can sign up with Google or enter your email to create a new account.
  • Login — You will be redirected to the same page, where you can enter your registered email or continue with Google. After authenticating, you are taken straight to your dashboard.

You're all set
Once signed in, the extension popup will show your check options. Navigate to any web page and you are ready to create your first check. Head to the Create Your First Check guide to get started.

Troubleshooting

The extension icon does not appear

Make sure you have pinned the extension (Step 3 above). If you still do not see it, visit chrome://extensions and verify that Crosscheck is listed and enabled.

Extension installed but checks fail

Some pages restrict extension access, including Chrome internal pages (chrome://), the Chrome Web Store, and other extension popups. Try capturing on a regular web page instead. See the Extension Issues guide for more help.
